What Participation Involves

  • A one-hour telephone interview with a former CDC staff member

  • No audio recording

  • A written summary prepared in plain language

  • The opportunity to review, correct, and add to the summary

  • Public posting of the summary without your name or identifying details

Who Can Participate

Former CDC employees whose service ended due to workforce reductions, furloughs, or pressured retirement since January 2025.

Why Participate

Former staff have told us they want:

  • The goals of their work to be understood

  • An accurate record of their work at and contributions to CDC

  • A way to help plan and rebuild national public health alarm systems and protections
